Deimos.TV v1.3.9

Who runs what

  • Windows / Mac / Linux player — you host it. No Admin. Unlock Pro by pasting the key you bought. Media stays on that computer or your S3.
  • Web + Cinema — privately hosted by Deimos for TVs and the public site. Owner login admin / deimos for Stripe and keys. Still no Deimos media hosting: files are local or the bucket whose keys are pasted.
  • Deimos never stores customer video. Not on the player, not on Cinema.

Start

  1. Unzip. Keep templates/ and static/ next to the binary.
  2. On-demand: ./deimos-tv → http://localhost:8080
  3. Cinema (same features, Jellyfin-style UI): ./deimos-cinema or ./deimos-tv --cinema → http://localhost:8096
  4. Installed player (Windows / Mac / Linux): no Admin. Unlock Pro on License with the key you bought. Demo login demo / demo.
  5. Your web + Cinema servers: OPERATOR=1 or --cinema. Owner login admin / deimos for Stripe, keys, and storage.

Library

  • The app does not scan your disk. Library = demo clips + what you upload.
  • Upload an MP4. Optional: install ffmpeg for extra encodes.
  • Cinema shelf on upload: Movie or TV show (portrait posters in Cinema).
  • Second Life TV: set the prim media URL to your Cinema address (port 8096).
  • Sync: open the film, tick I am the remote, press Copy TV link, paste that URL on every TV.

Admin (owner only)

Sign in as admin / deimos, then Admin. Mint or cancel Pro keys, Stripe/Coinbase, site storage. Demo and Pro members cannot open this. Change the owner with ADMIN_USER and ADMIN_PASS if you want.

How to pay and upgrade to Pro

  1. Open the sales site and go to Pricing.
  2. Choose Pro $49 / year or Lifetime $129.
  3. Pay with Stripe (card) or Coinbase Commerce (BTC, ETH, USDC, and other coins you enable). Both links are set under Admin → Stripe & payments.
  4. After payment clears, you receive a license key by email (or the seller pastes it if you bought by invoice).
  5. In this app: License → paste the key → Save.
  6. Pro unlocks immediately: no watermark, unlimited uploads, your S3/Storj, live RTMP/RTSP, larger slideshows.

Storage (owner)

We do not host files. On Storage pick Local, or paste your keys for AWS S3, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, MinIO, Storj, or Filebase. Test & save.

Live (Pro)

Add a channel: YouTube or Twitch watch URL, an .m3u8, rtmp:// from OBS, or rtsp:// from a camera. ffmpeg must be installed for RTMP/RTSP so the browser can play HLS.

Themes

Look → six dark accents (green / sky / violet / amber / rose / aqua or mint on Cinema).

Windows SmartScreen

Unsigned downloads show “Windows protected your PC”. Details → Run anyway. Reputation builds over time. Signing a certificate is optional later.
